MEET OUR PRINCIPAL

Principal Lawrence Ricard

I was blessed to have attended Catholic education my first 12-years of schooling giving me a strong foundation in the Catholic doctrine. I attended St. Clare of Montefalco elementary and De La Salle Collegiate. I have received degrees from Eastern Michigan University, Oakland University and Saginaw Valley University:  Accounting, Elementary Education, and a Masters in Administration Leadership respectively. With over a decade of teaching in East Detroit and now administering here at Immaculate Conception, I am excited daily to work with the children, teachers and families of Immaculate Conception.

I love working with such an awesome community. I enjoy hearing about and experiencing the “family” environment that Immaculate Conception radiates! This is shown through our parent volunteers at school functions, fundraising events, community efforts and simply having fun during the annual summer Perch Fest just to mention a few. When I interviewed for this position, I asked the parents of the interview committee, “If I was a parent looking for a Catholic school, why should I send my children to IC?” I was blown away and excited with the stories and the positive stories I received back. Working with such an exuberant group of parents and students is energizing! I believe in keeping traditions alive that have helped IC thrive and introducing new and invigorating ideas to help make it grow as well. I invite you to come experience this too!

God bless you and your family,

Mr. Ricard, Principal – Immaculate Conception
